Parking officer allegedly assaulted in east end

A 30-year-old Toronto man has been accused of assaulting a parking enforcement officer earlier this week in the east end.

Toronto Police said they responded to an assault call on Tuesday at about 12:45 p.m. in the Danforth-Carlaw Aves. area, where a parking enforcement officer was attempting to complete a violation notice.

Police said the officer was then allegedly obstructed and assaulted by a male suspect while trying to perform their job.

Sokol Rustemi has since been arrested and charged with assaulting a peace officer.
