And bring Wendel Clark, Tom Wilson, Brandon Montour and Jake Walman with you to The Price Is Right Tonight.

Schaefer, the personable New York Islanders’ Calder Trophy-winning defenceman, whose team plays the Maple Leafs here Saturday headlines a special NHL themed edition of the iconic game show’s Canadian version Monday night at 8 p.m.

It’s part of Season 2 of the evening supplement that launched this past week, hosted by Howie Mandel and seen locally on CITY-TV.

What do the players recall about the show?

The NHL celebrities, who help contestants in classic games such as Plinko, Let It Roll and, of course, spinning the Big Wheel, was taped in June in Toronto. The audience will be wearing their favourite NHL team sweaters.

“My dad watched the show and my grandparents definitely did,” Schaefer told the Sun in June. “Any time you bring the show up with someone it’s: ‘Oh my God, no way.’ My dad said to me: ‘You sure they don’t want me on there?’”

Wilson, the rugged Washington Capitals winger, said he watched the original Price Is Right with Bob Barker religiously as a kid in Toronto. The retired Clark, now a Maple Leaf ambassador and an avid golfer, said he enjoyed Barker’s putting for prizes.

“Before iPads and YouTube, The Price Is Right is what I had going on,” Wilson said. “I just like to hang in to the very end and see the new car and the trips they won. It was pretty exciting.

“Hopefully. people like the hockey theme.”
